Three arrested in West Midlands gangmaster case

Three men aged between 27 and 44 were arrested at their home addresses as part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of agricultural labour, contrary to section 12 of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004.

The arrests took place at around 5am this morning in the Oldbury area of the West Midlands in a joint operation conducted by the Gangmasters Licensing Authority and West Midlands Police.

A combined total of 30 officers were involved in this operation which also involved a number of properties being searched as warrants were executed.

The three men were taken to West Bromwich Police Station and have now been released on bail.
