Freedom of information and data protection
The Freedom of Information Act gives you the right to ask us for information we have on a particular subject. The data protection legislation (Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection legislation) gives you the right to ask for personal information we hold on you.
We must give you this information within 20 working days (freedom of information requests) or one month (data protection requests), unless there is a good reason why this is not possible. Sometimes information is withheld under exemptions in the legislation, but if this is the case we will tell you why. If you ask for personal information your request is handled under the Data Protection Act.
