Question(s): Your agency is designated as a body which can employ Financial Intelligence Officers (FIOs) and Accredited Financial Investigators (AFIs) under the POCA. I would like to request the following information from yourselves under the Freedom of Information Act 2000: · The number of staff in your agency who currently hold roles under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (such as Financial Intelligence Officers (FIOs) and Accredited Financial Investigators (AFIs). From this figure, please could you also provide an answer to the following: · How many staff are FIOs and how many are AFIs?

Response: Although we have no staff specifically employed in the roles of Financial Intelligence Officer or Accredited Financial Investigator, we have one Accredited Financial Investigation Officer, who is not specifically employed in that role, but brought the qualification from another role. We also have six members of staff undergoing a training programme towards accreditation. These will not be dedicated roles, and officers will do this alongside their other responsibilities. |
