New GLAA Board members appointed

Mike Sheldon and Tony Lochery have been appointed as GLAA Board Members on a three year term in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments.
Mike Sheldon has spent his working career in the Agriculture and Horticulture sector. He joined the Pig Improvement Company (PIC) as a graduate trainee becoming European Marketing Manager to establish his own company.
He was the founding CEO of the National Pig Association and was a Board member of BPEX, a levy body for the pig industry which later became the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) for 8 years.
Other roles include a Board member of Assured Food Standards (AFS), trustee member of the Meat and Livestock Commission (MLC) Pension Scheme and First Deputy Chair and chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Sea Fish Industry Authority.
An experienced SME chairman and Non Executive Director, Tony Lochery has worked across a range of industries over the last 45 years and ran his own business for 12 years.
His previous roles include Group Managing Director of Kwik Fit and CEO of City Holdings Limited, a facilities management company.
For the last 20 years he has chaired both private and public companies in a variety of industries within manufacturing, distribution and retail including George Walker Transport, APC Technology Group plc and Walton Garden Buildings.
His approach places an emphasis on ethical values, social responsibilities, and employee wellbeing.
