Extension granted to question trafficking suspects
14th September 2017
Detectives conducting a human trafficking investigation have been given more time to question six people who were arrested on Tuesday.
At a hearing yesterday afternoon, magistrates granted officers an extension to question the three men and three women apprehended during a joint operation involving the GLAA.
Police officers executed warrants at five houses in Derby in the early hours of Tuesday morning (September 12) and discovered 10 potential victims.
The 10 men, who are believed to have been trafficked into the UK from Latvia, were and continue to be supported by partner agencies.
The arrested men are aged 32, 41 and 53 while the women are 31, 35 and 54. Enquiries are continuing.
