GLAA welcomes new Board member
16th January 2019
The Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) has welcomed Suzanne McCarthy as its newest Board member.
Suzanne, the UK's former Immigration Services Commissioner, has held several senior positions in her career, including chief executive of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
She has also worked at the Treasury and Home Office, where she was private secretary to two Home Secretaries.
Suzanne, who spent a day at our Nottingham headquarters this week meeting colleagues, brings a wealth of Board experience to the GLAA and is delighted to be joining us.
She said: “It’s been fascinating to find out in more detail about the very important work that you do, along with some of the challenges the GLAA is currently facing. I am looking forward to playing my part as a Board member in helping the agency.”
Margaret Beels, chair of the Board, said: “Suzanne’s extensive background in public service and the experience and insight she brings will, I’m sure, prove a real asset to the GLAA.”
