Reappointment of Suzanne McCarthy as GLAA Board Member

Suzanne McCarthy has been reappointed as a GLAA Board Member for a second term of three years. This reappointment, commencing on 15 January 2022, has been made in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments.
A former UK Immigration Services Commissioner, Suzanne was also CEO of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority and the first CEO of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
During her central Whitehall career she worked at both HM Treasury and the Home Office, serving as Private Secretary to two Home Secretaries. Her current NED roles include Chairman of the Fire Standards Board, Chairman of the Joint Audit Panel of the Mayor’s Office of Policing and Crime and the Metropolitan Police Service; Chairman of Depaul UK, a national charity focused on tackling youth homelessness, and Deputy Chair of the Valuation Tribunal Service.
She is also a member of several boards including the Advertising Standards Authority, the Fundraising Regulator and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.
